Paige, a fourth grader, may have saved the life of her best friend, Julianna. Julianna began to go into anaphylaxis shock due to a severe allergic reaction. Paige noticed the difficulty Julianna was having with trouble breathing and quickly came to the teacher and said that Julianna needed immediate help. The teacher was able to administer an Epi-pen, which eased the reaction and prevented further shock until the paramedics were able to arrive. Due to Paige’s “yell and tell”, Julianna was treated and was able to return to school the next day.
